Bon Voyage Party

Yesterday my parents threw a going away party for me that included scrumptious food and many of the most important people in my life.  Many of my close friends were there, and even though they did not all know each other they had a great time.  CJ and Matt, two of my karate friends shown below, sure had their fair share of fun, and good thing my parents cooked a lot of food, because they ate a lot!

The adults mostly stayed on the porch and by the middle of the afternoon there would not have been any room for all of the teenagers in there.

My friends and I
Hint: I am the shortest one.
We had our own little circle of chairs outside and at least we had the shade of the large maple tree to block out the hot sun.  It was a really nice day though, it was a little bit warmer than expected -it hovered around 82 the whole day- but the humidity was not bad and those pesky mosquitos only decided to join the party once the lovely sun went down.  At that point we were all ready to go inside for a nice glimpse of the mix CD's that my friends Cameron and Wesley made up.

Once we got inside though, my dog Camille decided to say hello with her signature jump-all-over-you-and-lick-you-to-death treatment.  In truth I do not think that any of my friends minded the love one bit.

After everyone had gone home to what I would hope would be sleep, I tried desperately to open this one beautifully wrapped gift from Marcy, who along with Diane did a great job setting up and making a few dishes, those cupcakes are to die for!

As you can see, there was someone else who wanted to try to open it too!

I had a great time at the party and I am very glad that I was able to see some people that I will not have the chance to see before I leave, and others who will be with me until my plane leaves Logan Airport at 12:07pm on September 1st.  I am looking forward to all of the great experiences that I will be able to share with you when I arrive at my host family in 4 weeks!
